checking the facts

During a pause from studying The Crucible, one student looked up and asked, somewhat concerned, “Does it matter that I don’t know very much about Hell?”

“No, of course not.”

“Hell is the bad place, right? That is where the devil is? And the devil is satan, that’s it, isn’t it?”

how thin the veil that lies Between the pain of hell and Paradise.

It hasn’t been the best of days for me. Yesterday I had a foul headache (no, not fowl, but foul) and took heaps of pain medication to little avail except to cause me tummy problems. So today I have been huddling in my bed for most of the day with tummy issues, feeling sorry for myself and in somewhat of a black mood. Well, perhaps more blue than black. There may have even been a tear or two.

No doubt, it is more due to the post flu pandemic than the fact that I am really PISSED off at my world right now. There is a little area in my brain that wonders if perhaps some of it might be due to the fact that today I should have been returning to work after the school holidays, but I am not because I am UNEMPLOYED. Yeah, maybe I am a little SHITTED OFF with the world, and teaching in particular,  right now.

Maybe I will move into the garden shed and write the Great Australian novel. Gee, what an original idea for I am sure that no angry unemployed person ever thought of doing that before. Maybe I will just make voodoo dolls and stick pins into them while reordering my stick list.

I have been in no mood for company, not even my own. In fact, I am in the mood to tear heads off chickens. I do not apologise to any animal lover for my proposed  mistreatment of the said chickens. Chickens will be hurt in the evolution of my mood, but they will die for the greater good. Fact.

Mr FD was able to flee to the other side of the city, dealing with the financial issues of settling his parents into care. I am sure that feeding his father was a much happier past time for him today than spending quality time with his wife. I am glad that he did not have to suffer through this with me, and I am also angry that he did not suffer through this with me.

He woke my during the night, by declaring in his sleep to just “ASK the monsters over there. I am very good at communicating with monsters!” He probably is after being married to me for 34 tears.

Another day in paradise. Whoopee.

Ah, to think how thin the veil that lies Between the pain of hell and Paradise.
