Two students walked up to the circulation desk at lunch time to ask if the plastic owl outside the library was a camera. In expectation that it was they had been talking and performing in front of it!
Not quite their 15 minutes of fame.

I’d would have told them it was and kept them dancing for a bit lol
I wish I had thought of that! They are always hanging around after the class bell has gone and I always have to chase them off, and all I could think of was having the Owl screech “the bell has gone, go to class NOW!”
Now you’ve got their attention you could use a stuffed owl as a focus for reading circles, story writing competitions and even dance competitions with book token prizes …… like a library mascot…. just a thought
Great idea – we were thinking of naming him, but I like your ideas better!
Too Funny!!!!!!!! They have installed cameras in the hallways of our hospital now, so I have to be super careful…I dont want to be seen scratching my behind or anything!
I once worked in a bookshop where the owners had installed a camera above the desk where the money was counted. They filmed the previous manager making out with her boyfriend on the desk. She was middle aged.
Too bad there isn’t a camera in there. lol
I was going to say, I wish there had been a camera that caught their antics in front of the owl. That would have drawn a few thousand views.
Would make for some merriment at the end of year teacher celebrations!
You should now install a camera in the owl to see what you get. Kids are stupid.
We have a wide screen TV over the circulation desk where we rotate messages (mainly I play the jazz music channel, yes a library with music!) but we could play the film for all to enjoy!
Maybe instead of an owl you need a dragon. When we were kids we always thought the library was the home of dragons. Ratty (soon to be barbecued).
DRAGONS! Barbecued on toast! We are known as the happiest work team in the school!
LOL! Now that you’ve disillusioned them, you can hide a camera in there! They’ll never suspect it! >:D
They certainly deserve a gotcha moment! Though the young love to perform so much that they would probably love every moment of it!
