Yet another interview, for a position where there is an incumbent already in the role. This time she has been doing the job for the entire year, and has applied for the job, of course.
Cruel and inhumane treatment, offering people interviews for a position that it is highly unlikely that they will be given equity. I could say more, but I am too much of a lady… I mean goddess. Goddess, damn you!

There’s always the longshot possibility that they are hoping to replace her.
Or perhaps she’ll be abducted by aliens, and they’ll have to find someone.
It is all such a sucky process.
I wonder if she walks down dark lanes at night?
Jilted like the lady above. Sooo sorry.
Worse things happen to people, I just hope that the person who got the job does a good job as the students deserve that.
I dunno… I have a feeling about this one
Sorry, but don’t bet the rent on it….she got the job!
hopefully the incumbent will come down with a mysterious ailment
one that will inconvenience her for a considerable time
nothing too nasty or permanent, of course
Like being pushed down the stairs? She got the job- surprise, not!
I’m sorry!
Just do some Goddess curse upon them all!! XD Luv ya!
My stick list is so long now, that I need a servant to carry it on a silver platter behind me!
Maybe she’ll turn out to be a closet gin addict or something? That happens a lot over here as well, you go for an interview only to find that you’re the ‘legal requirement to advertise and interview’ candidate and they know bloody well who they plan to hire already, it’s really irritating. Better luck next time!
I was going to say something similar to this – except I’m in America, so it happens here as well. At my job they’ll hire temp workers and then interview for a permanent position knowing full well they intend to hire the temp … but for legal reasons they have to interview other people.
Yes, the same here. Time we started fighting back for being used and abused in such a manner!
Fair or unfair, procedures hafta be followed, it’s the way of the workplace …
They should inform you that there is already someone filling the role, so that you have the choice before applying, or know not to get too hopeful. If someone has already spent money training someone, they are going to favour them unless there is an issue. If there is an issue, then why waste time interviewing the incumbent? Honesty is the best policy!
I always wonder about policies like that. Ridiculous and a waste of both peoples’ time.
