During a pause from studying The Crucible, one student looked up and asked, somewhat concerned, “Does it matter that I don’t know very much about Hell?”
“No, of course not.”
“Hell is the bad place, right? That is where the devil is? And the devil is satan, that’s it, isn’t it?”
Is that just a wee bit scary?
I still find it a little amazing just how many children do seem to be growing to up without an idea of the concepts of heaven and hell. Not that they have believe, but I would have thought that just growing up in our culture that they would glean some understanding of what people consider heaven and hell.
Sad and funny at the same time.
Hell is a creation of the church to keep sheep in line. B~A~A!
Indeed yes. To my mind nothing but a story to explain concept and to keep obedience.
