    • I just kept thinking of them all day. Our sister school is at Innisfail and people were taking shelter there from early today. I just can’t believe the continual horrors that our state is suffering.

  1. The pictures of the sheer size of the thing are terrifying. I’ll be thinking of Mr and Mrs GOF and hoping that they’ll be ok. Fortunately GOF seems like a wordly wise sort of chap so I imagine he’s taken all the sensible precautions that you can. From then on it’s all down to luck.

  2. Sometimes I want to scream ‘enough already’. But it does no good. Hang on Queensland, it’s going to be a bumpy night.

ps praying everyone and everything makes it through.

  3. Oh, indeed I shall. Australia’s really been socked this year. I’ve heard about this cyclone and almost feel as though I should run to the basement and cover my head, just in sympathy. This is really horrible.

  4. Best of luck to all affected. We’re in for a roller-coaster year(s). There could be more of this if the weather-forecasters are right about La Nina.

  5. Just saw that Yasi was downgraded to a category 3 now finally. I hope that means the worst is over. It’s bedtime in my corner of the world… been thinking of the GOFs all day. I hope we’ll get news from them soon, that they are fine and the house is still standing.

  6. I don’t know what else to say but thank you FD. The support from blog friends has been so humbling and quite overwhelming. You are all very special people.
