Thanks for the link, FD. I have developed Pterygium so may be needing one of those one day. Not really, but I do like to over dramatise things just a little…
When I was in the hospital for my eye operation a woman who had previously had the operation came in to share her expereince with me. She said that she was originally handed a box full of eyes and they sorted through to find one suitable for her!
Things had changed – mine have all been custom made so not box selection. They do actually look like that though – like a shell.
I won’t tell you what I have wrapped in tissue in my bedside drawer then…. Jack Newton, the golfer used to drop his into the beer of his companions as a party joke…. funny….hhhmmmm
Mine is ceramic. It has to be able to withstand the proteins that the body produces in response to a foriegn “body”. They are quite a work of art, as they even paint in little red veins so they look faintly blood shot!

Snowy, it is always good to be prepared in life! LOL!
My Dad suffered from Pterygium – he had to have them removed a couple of times. I am sure you can man up to it when the time comes!
Googly eyes! Better to have one than none, though.
Oh so better to have one than none! I can attest to that!
Wild! And a little creepy…

I worry about “on receipt of the old eye” FD…..that opens up some gruesome possibilities.

Don’t some of them move inside the eye socket, just like real eyes?
How horrible to handed a box full of eyes to sort through.
Mine doesn’t move as I have no muscle left. I am not sure how someone would manage to move it, but anything is possible.
